About the Festival
Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival is an annual event celebrating Bluegrass, American Old-Time and Folk Music.
Situated in the town of Westport on the shores of Clew Bay in the west of Ireland, the festival is now widely regarded as the leading bluegrass event on the Island.
The Festival was formed in 2007 and as it grows year on year, it maintains its core values and ethos of creating a welcoming environment. Each year, the Festival continues to create opportunities for musicians of all standards to play formally and informally with professional musicians from all over the world; while curetting a program of high quality performers.
This year, the Festival will welcome more than 15 acts from different states of the US, UK, The Czech Republic, Spain and of course Ireland. The program will feature concerts, pub gigs, sessions, workshops, gospel concerts, a square dance, and much more.
The voluntary organising committee is looking forward to welcoming all music lovers to Westport for the 17th edition of this great gem in one of Ireland’s most beautiful town.
