Bernadette Nic Gabhann come from a musical family in County Meath, in the east of Ireland. she learned to play at home fromher Dad, Antóin Mac Gabhann. she is now perform & teach at music events worldwide.
She grew up with a great bunch of musicians in Co. Meath. They played mostly Reels & Jigs, with a few Hornpipes, Barndances & O'Carolan Marches. She participated in many Fleadhanna Cheoil in my youth ; solo, duet, Grupaí Cheoil & Céilí Band.
Bernadette then started travelling the world playing fiddle & promoting Irish Arts. She toured as Fiddle player with Troupe 2 of ‘Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance’. They toured through many US towns, and also to Alaska & South Korea. She also performed with Gaelforce Dance, which toured Eastern Europe and Taiwan, and she spent a summer in Busch Gardens, Virginia with Irish Thunder. she lived in Nashville for a little while then , before moving back to Ireland.
In recent years, she recorded & performed with her friends in NicGaviskey. This group formed after a great nights music at The Catskills Irish Arts Weeks in East Durham, upstate New York.
