Niall Hanna is a traditional folk singer and songwriter from Derrytresk in Co. Tyrone. In late 2018 he released his fist solo album of songs which received critical acclaim. The title track ‘Autumn Winds’ was nominated for ‘Best Original Track’ at the RTE Folk Awards in October 2018. He also received a nomination for ‘Best Emerging Folk Artist’ and has been making a name for himself within the folk scene in recent times. In 2017 he received the ‘Young Musician’s Platform Award’ from the Arts council, which provided him with the funding to produce and release his debut album.

Niall was immersed in traditional singing at a very young age when he began to learn from the singing of his late Grandfather, Geordie Hanna. Since then Niall has combined his songs with his guitar playing and has performed on stages alongside a range of established acts including John McSherry & Donal O’Connor, Cathal Hayden, Barry Kerr, Rioghnach Connolly, The Ulster Orchestra, Buille and many more. He has toured in countries across Europe and in Australia where he has developed his ability to convey the stories in his songs.
